Snowball / Let Me Hold Your Hand
Two-screen video installation, 2005

In this video installation, my main subject is men, masculinity, tenderness and loss. It was after reading Judith Butler and her texts about what she calls "gender melancholy" that I felt the desire for working with men around the subject of manhood and masculinity. The story I wanted to speak of in these images was he loss of intimacy that men suffers due to their sacrifice to what Butler calls "the heterosexual matrix" . The sacrifice is here represented by, among other things, bruises.

The men in the videos are Nils Meseke, Job Van Eldijk and Tobias Hedlund.
